Meet Brittany Scott

Clinical Mental Health Graduate Student Intern at University of North Carolina Charlotte (UNCC)

Brittany is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling student at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I am dedicated human services professional and graduate intern with a passion for supporting children, adolescents, and families through trauma-informed, strengths-based, and person-centered approaches. Throughout my career, I have worked across child welfare, behavioral health, education, foster care, crisis intervention, and community-based services, helping individuals navigate complex challenges while promoting resilience and lasting positive outcomes.

My experience includes leadership in family preservation programs, behavioral health care coordination, child protective services, intensive in-home mental health services, foster care case management, crisis stabilization, and education. I have had the privilege of serving diverse populations by advocating for equitable access to resources, strengthening family systems, coordinating multidisciplinary care, and empowering youth and caregivers through education, support, and evidence-based interventions.

As a graduate intern, I am eager to continue expanding my clinical knowledge while integrating research, evidence-based practices, and lived professional experience to support individuals, families, and communities. My goal is to become a clinician who empowers others through empathy, advocacy, collaboration, and a deep commitment to trauma-informed care and holistic wellness.
